Becomes Babb's Best Friend...

A
steady handed Shannon Babb emerges from his #18 after leading
green to checkers for a $40,000 performance in the Diamond
Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri Sunday
evening.

Delayed
an evening from the severe storms that plagued Southwest Missouri,
the event ran Sunday evening with heats, consy and the 100 lap
feature that saw Babb's Rocket head the field throughout the night
over some 80 entries.

With
Babb leaving the rest of the field behind, it left superstars such
as Billy Moyer #21 and Scott Bloomquist to entertain the fans in
door to door action.

Earl

fifth place starting spot and a heated battle with veteran Jimmy

Trent
Letson #12 leaves the ballpark during Late Model Stock action
Friday night at North Alabama Speedway in a night filled with a
super tacky-glue like surface that seen numerous wrecks in both
Late Model Stock and Super Late Model Southern All Stars
sanctioned action.


The
remains of Letson's Late Model Stock after a violent flat landing
to his Late Model chassised car. Letson was unhurt in the wreck.


Southern
Delta area favorite Chris Wall was hurt in this Super Late Model
flip after this #71, above top photo moments before wreck, dug in
and began a series of rolls off the banking of the Tuscumbia, AL
track.

Track
and SAS series officials assist Wall out of his car. Late
transported to the local hospital for test, Wall was fitted with a
neck brace for journey back to his Louisiana home, where on Monday
Wall was told while no surgery would be required, his racing would
be on hold for a month as his vertebra recovers from the wreck.

Howell's Super Late Model #19 shows extensive damage after a wreck
with Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth.

Lee's Monumental Win...

Shown
above on Friday night en route to the weekly Super Late Model
feature win at Ponderosa (KY) Speedway, the defending Battle of
the Bluegrass Series champion validated his resume the following
night with a BoB Series win in the Hoosier Classic at Brownstown,
Indiana's fairgrounds track.
The
win was the first series win for his car owner Frank Revel and
Lee's first series win since a 2004 victory at Soggy Bottom
Raceway's BoB-sanctioned event. The duo paired last year to win
the BoB title despite their missing victory lane in the
competitive series. The Saturday night win across the border at
the historical track gave Lee his first series win of the season
again, despite being the points leader this season to date as well
as he. collected $3,000 for his winning of the 25th Annual Hoosier

Hill had several strong road-trip runs, but no wins to show for
his efforts in 2008 until Saturday night when he took the short
trip to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN and out dueled Jeff
Maupin for the Super Late Model win.
